    The Renner Foundation is a not-for-profit organization committed to the advancement of medicine, higher education, cultural and religious values.

    To implement this commitment, the Foundation shall consider applications from accredited non-profit private and public organizations directly involved in the aforementioned fields.

    In medicine, the Foundation intends to follow its precedent in supporting medical education, capital improvements in care facilities, and recognized fields of research.

    In education, the Foundation wishes to support institutions of higher education through scholarship programs, capital improvements, and other specialized programs.

    With cultural and religious grants, the Foundation's primary interests lie in historical preservation, environmental causes, literature, and the arts.

    An overriding goal is the Foundation's consideration of specific grants shall be the greater benefit of the community from the investment of the grant. In fulfillment of this goal, the Foundation, in general, shall:

    • Give primary consideration to grants of $25,000 or more which:
      • are matched by other funds,
      • supplement and do not replace existing project resources,
      • do not finance ongoing operating costs,
      • may provide for self-perpetuating financing.
    • Make grants on a yearly basis. Multi-year, staged commitments may be given based on availability of funds.
    • Only give grants to organizations that have submitted applications considered complete by the Foundation. Applications must be submitted on or before March 15 of each calendar year by postmark of that date or by facsimile transmission to be considered by May of that year. Unfunded applications are not kept from year to year.
    • Give no grants from which any trustee or member of the Foundation may materially benefit.
